Verified trading names

Many IP practices trade under a name that differs from the one the registers hold: a Dutch h.o.d.n. entry, a “trading as” name, or one market brand covering separate national entities. IPRATE can show that name as the headline on a profile once the practice has claimed it and we have verified the evidence behind it.

The registry name never disappears. It stays on the profile beneath the trading name, because every rating here is computed from official filing data and must remain checkable against EUIPO, the EPO and the national registers.

A trading name carries no rating of its own. Ratings are computed per country and per vertical so that each practice is measured against the market it actually files in; pooling jurisdictions would produce a number comparable to nothing. A brand page therefore lists each practice separately, with the rating that jurisdiction earned.
