Reading an IPRATE rating

Read the rating, the confidence grade and the peer group together.

Updated

Each rating belongs to a peer group. A peer group is the firms in one country, practice area, filing track and time window. Compare firms within the same peer group.

There are two ratings. Top Rated is the top quarter of a peer group. Every other rated firm is Rated.

The confidence grade shows how strong the evidence behind a rating is. We publish grades A, B and C.

Each rating draws on six pillars. Each pillar measures one part of a firm's filing record. Read the rating together with its pillars. Volume and success, for example, measure different things.

The methodology explains the pillars and how we publish ratings. A profile's date shows the release its rating comes from.

If a rating seems to be missing, open the firm's profile and check the country and filing track. You can ask for a correction through the contact page. Send us the profile link and the register record.

Check a firm

Ratings are never sold. No purchase changes a rating, a label, a score, a rank, a confidence grade or a firm's eligibility for a rating.
